PARENTS CODE OF CONDUCT

Kelowna City FC Parent Code of Conduct

At Kelowna City FC, we pride ourselves on creating an inclusive, open environment for all players to participate, learn and grow in. As important members of the club, we ask for your help in fostering that environment and helping to not only develop your child’s love for the game, but also helping them to experience all the positive benefits team sports have in molding them into a good citizen. As with our Coach, Club Official and Player Codes of Conduct, we have outlined some behaviours with which we wish our members to impart as well as a set of standards that we can all hold each other to, to make our club the best it can be!

By signing below, I agree I will

  1. Review the Player Code of Conduct with my child(ren) and ensure they understand their behavioural responsibilities prior to their signing.
  2. Model positive behaviour for my child(ren), other players, other adults that reflects respect, sportsmanship and good citizenship
  3. Foster an environment of respect for officials, coaches, players, spectators and opponents during practices & games
  4. Refrain from using foul or abusive language at any times
  5. Refrain from consuming alcohol, tobacco or cannabis at any sessions or games where Kelowna City FC is participating
  6. Encourage and support not only your own child(ren), but also teammates, opponents and other spectators
  7. Refrain from communicating with match officials in any way. This is a job for the team officials.
  8. Avoid words or gestures that express disagreement decisions by match officials
  9. Refrain from coaching from the sidelines
  10. Communicate any concerns to coaches, team or club officials at the appropriate time, preferably away from the playing field and players
  11. Understand that player development and growth is our abiding principle at Kelowna City FC. Game to game results may not necessarily reflect player development and it should be understood that all development is not linear, so encouragement at all times is key.
  12. Understand that failure to abide by the above policies may result in suspension, disciplinary action or possible removal from Kelowna City FC
